Lawrie Cronin has been associated with Metrology, Inspection and Quality
Assurance for over 35 years, working with the U.K. Ministry of Defence [MOD],
The National Physical Laboratory [NPL], The British Calibration Services [BCS],
The National Measurement Accreditation Service [NAMAS], The United Kingdom
Accreditation Service [UKAS] and Industry. In his time with the above
organisations, he has been Head and UKAS Approved Signatory of the MOD's DC/LF
electrical standards and calibration laboratories at Services Electrical
Standards Centre [SESC] and Principal Officer/Assessment Manager for
electrical measurement with UKAS.
LBCS Ltd was formed following his departure from UKAS in September 1998 to
provide consultancy and training services in metrology, inspection, quality
assurance and measurement accreditation. Since the formation of the company
services have been provided in the U.K., Europe, Middle East and the Far East.
He is a Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and a member of the
Institute of Acoustics.
